Jhonlie Cuis-Barnes is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in the state of North Carolina (LMBT NC#16273). A graduate of the Body Therapy Institute, Siler City, NC with 660 hours of training in Swedish and myofascial massage. The education also includes basic training in trigger point therapy, energy balancing, hot stone massage, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, lymphatic drainage, and spa treatments.
She provides total body treatment for all body mechanics and provide other non-traditional services that are lacking in the community. She specializes in abdominal massage and bodywork and joint mobilization. Abdominal massage and bodywork encompass the integumentary, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. The skeletal system sometimes, indirectly can be corrected once the muscular system is treated; again, it is a case by case and not guaranteed.
The services she provides are a part of an integrative wholistic therapeutic approach that focuses on how the multiple systems of the body work synergistically. When the body is given the proper and balanced condition, it can expedite recovery. Her goal is to help as many people as possible to alleviate much health challenges.
Massage can be defined as structured professional touch. Massage and bodywork techniques manually manipulate the muscles, tendons, and fascia of the body to promote health and wellness. Benefits of massage and bodywork include but not limited to aid posture, circulation and breathing enhancement, relief from muscular tension, soreness, and pain, increase flexibility and mobility, stress and anxiety reduction, increased clarity, increased energy, and a greater sense of the mind-body-spirit connection.
She has been a licensed massage and bodywork therapist since February 2017, shortly after graduating on November 2016. Her original practice was located in her home and free of charge in service to helping everyone she can. At this time she was a wife, a mother and was a caregiver to her parents.
For several years up until 2020 she had been caring for her parents. Her father Nicomedes (now 85 yo) had several health symptoms mostly resolved while in her care. Her mother Pacita (now 81 yo) was diagnosed with severe bone cancer in 2018 which left her nearly dead. Thank God she was cured in 2020 by a series of collaboration of modalities over the years. NiCita's Wholistic Therapeutics, LLC came to existence in commemorating her parents (names combined).
She is married to Stephen Shayne Barnes. She has 6 live children (1 son and 5 daughters). All her girls are home birth with the help mostly of her husband. They homeschool their children and practice Orthodox Judaism. She tends her parents sustainable garden (established since 2001) that evolved into a wild sustainable herbal garden which she named, "NiCita's Garden" in honor of her parents. She collects herbal teas and tinctures that are harvested from NiCita's Garden. She enjoys giving live plants to others. Her garden is a certified wildlife habitat and she recently become a member of the Sustainable Neighbors of Fayetteville, NC.
She established Custom Craft, Textile & Design, LLC (December 2022). This business is her children's business and serves as a tool for their growth and becoming independent at a young age. This business aspect is consist of embroidery, garden related tools like trellis and such, and other designing avenue and crafts that her children will develop over the years.
She is very passionate on serving God, her family and others through educating and sharing with others her experiences and tangible and practical usage of information learned. She enjoys observing and experimenting new ideas to prove such cause an affect.
She is a service veteran. She served in the US Army from 2000-2013. She was a highly motivated paratrooper in the 82nd Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division. She was awarded for her hard work on supporting the unit and the other attachments in support of equipping the soldiers during SFOR9 deployment. She managed 6 barracks with well over 2000 personnel, furnishings, and a key custodian to the (now) 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade. She stood up 2 brand new EOD units, the elite 28th EOD and 722nd EOD companies. She was in an ensemble during the Miss Saigon Production in 2012 while a full time Civil Affairs Supply Sergent. She was also in Civil affairs NCO Army Supply Excellence Award nominee and helped her command earn an award to become the first special operations unit to be certified a Green Boot organization to achieve a sustainable environment at Fort Bragg, NC.
